As Graham Hancock famously said, Humanity is a species with amnesia. The purpose of forgetting, the reason for the amnesia, is to get us to focus on the matter. Focus on the matter creates a mission that must be accomplished with the time given here.
Time does not stop moving, whether you want to or not it forces us to make a choice. We cannot do all things because that would be another godlike quality.
What we decide to focus on either aligns with our true self and the desire for a certain experience, or a fake identity we manufacture to help someone else realize their dream.
My sincerest wish in writing this is that something within these pages will allow you to realize yours.
Recognize what is in your sight. That which is hidden from you will become plain to you.
The Roman Revolution: 1 (The Fall of the Roman Empire)
£11.99It was a time of revolution.
The Roman Revolution describes the little known “crisis of the third century”, and how it led to a revolutionary new Roman Empire. Long before the more famous collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the fifth century, in the years between AD 235-275, barbarian invasions, civil war and plague devastated ancient Rome. Out of this ordeal came new leaders, new government, new armies and a new vision of what it was to be Roman. Best remembered today is the rapid rise of Christianity in this period, as Rome’s pagan gods were rejected, and the emperor Constantine converted to this new religion. Less well remembered is the plethora of other changes that conspired to provide an environment well suited to a religious revolution. Drawing on the latest research, Nick Holmes looks for new answers to old questions. He charts the rise of the Roman Republic and the classical Roman Empire, examining the roles played by sheer good luck and the benign climate. For example, he emphasises the unexpected death of Alexander the Great and the subsequent weakness of the Greek successor states as the ideal political environment for Rome’s expansion. But Rome’s good fortune did not last. The rise of Sasanian Persia, the growing strength of the German barbarians, and the brutal effects of the Antonine plague caused the near collapse of the Roman Empire in the third century. Focusing on the reigns of the critically important but under-researched emperors in the third century, such as Aurelian, Diocletian and Constantine, he vividly brings to life how Rome just escaped catastrophe in the third century, and embarked on a journey that would take it into a brave new world – one which provided the foundations for modern Europe and America. This book is the first of a multi-volume series that will chart the full course of the Fall of the Roman Empire from the third century AD to the seventh. The second book, The Fall of Rome, continues the story of Rome’s decline up to the sack of Rome by Alaric the Goth in AD 410. The third book, Rome and Attila, covers the period from AD 410 to the western empire’s final demise in AD 476. Further books will look at the Roman reconquest of Italy and North Africa under the Emperor Justinian in the sixth century, followed by the rise of Islam and the demise of the Eastern Roman Empire in the seventh century.Ancient Mysteries of the Essenes: The Ken Johnson Collection

“A masterwork of scholarship that brings ancient wisdom into the modern age.” – Biblical Archaeology Review
John Peter Edwards –
I didnt have high hopes for this book. But much better than expected. Short, quick to read, guide to paganism.
Honest Reviewer –
If you are new to Paganism, as I am, this book is a good place to start. It is not a taxing read written by an academic, but an accessible introduction penned by an ordinary practitioner. Riley Star describes, or rather narrows down, what Paganism is and what it is not. So as to keep her book simple, she concentrates on just three ‘paths’: Wicca, Druidry and Odinism. She makes it quite clear that Paganism is not as straight-jacketed as many other non-pagan faiths and that the interpretation of it is largely up to the individual – and so something for almost everybody. She does not proselytise or denigrate the major religions; she just opens the eyes of those seeking an alternative. If you connect more with Nature and Spirituality than with Materialism and Selfism, and are ignorant of Paganism, then I suggest you pick up this book.

An interesting book for anyone wanting to know about paganism, it’s origins and beliefs (or lack of). Also for anyone wanting to get closer to nature.
Zoe –
The book is alright for an overview. But the amount of spelling errors is very distracting. Even the cover can’t decide how the author’s surname should be spelt
Nikki Etta –
I highly recommend this book to anyone considering the Pagan path. The dispelling of Pagan myths was a real eye-opener, so too was Star’s Glossary of Terms. Star’s enthusiasm for the subject was infectious and I particularly liked her gentleness and openness about choosing a Pagan path that is right for the individual. A great read and I feel inspired to learn more about living a Pagan pathway.
Ebony 1407 –
Loved the book, but can’t find any information or reference to one of the celtic goddesses mentioned in the book, and typically its one I was interested in researching. Google just has no clue who she is. Apart from that the book was very interesting.
Martinus –
A good overview of paganism and what being a pagan entails. Informative and well laid out.

Great intro to the pagan way
This book is an informative introduction into the pagan way of life. As a seeker, any path that brings me closer to my higher self and my purpose is a positive. Thus the addition of this book to my library. Riley does a wonderful job of navigating the history, terminology, rituals and goddesses/gods, without overwhelming the reader. It is a good read and I recommend to anyone curious about paganism.
